OMGuuurd It's Playoffs?!?
This season has been very interesting to watch from the sidelines. I know 2 or 3 of you have missed me dearly, but I have more than one championship to win this Fall. So apparently we have just 4 teams left and really anyone of them could win (ha!). This is going to be a rare playoffs where it's not either cold as fuck, raining, a monsoon, or all of the above. When was the last time that happened? Props to Shane for coming out to head ref tonight. It'll be nice to have a neutral person reffing games that might be so stressful that the rest of Papi's beard turns grey. Let's just get to the fun because I have a costume to make and I really don't give a shit about any team that's not playing tonight.
Semifinals
No Dead Weight vs. Muff N Men
I'm sure everyone knows what happened with Bez this season. He got the bootski for molesting a player and is now on the WAKA watch list just in case he attempts a terror attack during playoffs. Here's the thing... is NDW that much worse without him? I'd argue that given how this season has played out, they might be a little better. It's like when you get out of a shitty relationship and lose 20 pounds without trying. Bez was relationship weight this season. Last time these teams met it was a close game (7-5??). MnM made NDW make rare mistakes and took full advantage of them. The fields will be wet tonight, which can make mediocre pitchers look like Pedro, but it will also cause more errors. This one looks like a blow out on paper but I have a sneaky feeling the Muffs have a chip on their shoulder and will take it to the brink again. 4-3 NDW.
After School Specials vs. 1992
I'm not sure where the name 1992 comes from... Is it Casey's birth year? The year Sothea's balls dropped? The year Dambrie lost her virginity? The amount of money Stevey spent on hookers in Vegas? I don't know... Probably all of the above. They seemed like a great team on paper, and at times have shown it, but somehow lost twice this season to Shaker's ragtag bunch. It's only fitting they meet again. Both teams destroyed some horrible teams last week so confidence is up but, Adam Schefter reports that ASS will be starting their 3rd string pitcher tonight as their ace is currently listed as doubtful with AIDS. This should realistically be a blow out... ASS is in disarray and 1992 has a ton of experience and talent... Then again they also have Stevey and Sothea, who usually screw up at least once each on defense and offense. This is one of those 5-1 games that will end 5-4, 1992.
Hypothetical Finals
No Dead Weight vs. 1992
There is a lot on the line this game... For NDW: 4-peat and another yearly sweep of Superhero. Scotty, E and myself going for the calendar 3 peat. For 1992: Can any of these guys finally win at something? Will Stevey not cost his team a championship? The teams match up fairly well and I'm thinking this could be a high scoring game. The last time they met it was a blow out and Bez's last game of the season, but this is the playoffs and experience means a lot in games that matter. This is a tough one to call and I'm probably being a bit (a lot) biased but I'm thinking the dream team takes the championship 5-4 on a Mike Cobb walk off sac fly in extra innings.
Buuuut... Given the way my predictions normally go it wouldn't surprise me if Pitches By Krazy ended up winning it all!
I'll be back next season! Or maybe not.
