Week 7
Short and sweet this week as I've been busy and we're still in crossover weeks so it's all basically for bragging rights. Congrats to Pitches Be Krazy and We've Got the Runs for being the first Lighthouse teams to triumph over Superhero. The overall record is 6-2 Superhero, but we've got 6 games tonight and 6 more next week. I'm going to burn through the rankings and focus more on predictions much like last week.
Week 7 Power Rankings
#6. Hand Made Love
Gift wrapped a new team that hadn't won a game all season and HML barely squeaked out a win? Back to the bottom you go!
#5. Jugs & Thugs
Gotta punish these guys for falling for the "you have to have a girl pitch in Lighthouse" con... And then getting smoked. Only thing that dropped more balls than Sothea last week was puberty.
#4. Tinder Rejects
You know the rest of the league is struggling when Shaker's team is ranked 4th. At least they repped Superhero well and put a beating on their opponents.
#3. Rum Riot
Bonus points given for the plantain hammock that Pierce sported at the fields. Pretty much left nothing to the imagination.
#2. Balls on your Shin
A surprising loss last week coming off a huge win against NDW. They just looked out of sync without their captain.
#1. No Dead Weight
First team to ever go from first to worst to first in the rankings. Not as dominating a win as they would have liked, but a win's a win.
This Week's Games
Jugs & Thugs (-1) vs. We Only Come from Behind
The Jugs played like shit last week. It was like an entire outfield of Clifford Franklins. The only person who could catch only had 1 hand! (BHiB!) WOCfB is a veteran Lighthouse team and probably should be in the bunting league at this point. I don't seem them giving up many runs this game, but I also can't see Francis not pitching, which will be the difference. 3-2.
No Dead Weight (-3) vs. Swamp Donkeys
NDW looked pretty disinterested last week, and carried that over into the CT tourney, until Sloshball. Swamp Donks have a semi solid team, led by KSarge, who has so much power in WAKA that she can make up rules on the fly. This is probably going to be one of those bombs away NDW games that don't yield many runs but tons of Dena punch. NDW defense stays solid. 3-0.
Tinder Rejects (-4) vs. <blank>
I had a pretty nice write up for this but I forgot that because of a previous situation, I am no longer allowed to comment on or mention <blank>. So I'm just going to censor everything so no one slaps me. I'm pretty sure Greg and Shaker have only cared about winning one game this season, and this is it. TR played their best game of the season last week against a bunch of who gives a shits, but now they face the Lighthouse leading <blank>, led by <blank>. The <blank> guys are extremely <blank> and the girls can <blank> really well. This is the Tindies superbowl, so I'm taking them 5-1.
Balls on you Shin (-1) vs. AlcoBallix
The Balls suffered a surprising loss last week and it's going to be tough to go against them this week with their full roster. The Alchy's played a great game against NDW and are the only team in history to celebrate a 1 run loss. They'll look to use that momentum this week to maybe celebrate winning. I see BoyS bouncing back this week 2-1, but wouldn't be surprised by an upset or tie.
WEX'n Effect (-1) vs. Hand Made Love
WEX went out of their way last week to track me down and make sure I knew they planned on kicking the shit out of Superhero teams... And you know what, fuck it I'm on board this week. HML frigging sucks, Steve paid 75 bucks or whatever this costs to play one game. They could barely handle a winless team that's given up 900 runs. I'm taking the upset here, 5-4.
Rum Riot (-7) vs. Don't Let Your Balls Drop
RR is getting the cream puff Lighthouse schedule so far. This one has struggle snuggle written all over it. The only balls that won't be dropping are Pierce's if he wears the nut huggers again. 8-1.
