Week 1 Predictions
It's finally here, the day everyone has been counting down to since last Fall's season ended, Opening day of kickball. This season there are a lot more teams, a nice mix of veteran teams to brand new teams. So lets get the controversial juices flowing by starting with a list of week 1 predictions:
Lighthouse:
KIAB v East Bound and Down - coming straight out of retirement EBAD are fresh and ready to roll, acquiring coveted pitcher Patrick Myles was a huge acquisition for them, but will come up short in their debut due to the veteran KIAB squad (* KIAB 7 EBAD 4*)
TWSS v PBC - one of the new comer teams to the league PBC led by team captains Rachel B and Libby B look to start of hot taking on a veteran TWSS squad. should be a good game but in the end the newbies shall come out on top (* TWSS 5 PBC 9*)
RAB v OBSK - dont really know anything about either of these teams, so I am basing the prediction solely off of team name (*RAB 6 OBSK 3*)
SP v VS - Looks like another match up of new teams to the kickball forum, Victorious Secret had a nice showing at the preseason party, and are looking to continue to represent on the field (*SP 4 VS 8*)
Superhero:
BSP vs PRR - classic matchup between veteran teams, who were looking for a little change in the offseason, both are coming into the spring with new looks, and new team names, hoping to change their luck. This will be a tennis match like game, both teams with strong D's (*BSP 6 PRR 5*)
CHITE v SD - a battle of old school vs new school, Caitlin Malloy debuts her team looking to gain respect of the league while battling James Moore and his veteran squad. Don't be fooled by the new name, SD are the same fun loving hard competing team they were as BV, but with a few key losses in the off season, I have to side with CHITE (*CHITE 8 SD 5*)
*GAME OF THE WEEK*
EPO v Wak-A Shame - in this weeks GOTW we have some veteran kickballers, who have multiple seasons and WAKA titles under their belts just on a new team taking on a new look Shaker brother's team. This game has all makings of an ESPN instant classic. But in the end the Shaker Brothers will eek out on top (*EPO 5 WAS 7*)
ROE v NDW - NDW are bitter coming off of another championship game loss to Brandon Shaw and his crew, however this season "ice master" B-Shaw takes his talents to NDW in hope for one last run at it. ROE lost a lot in the off season, and not sure what really to expect. (*ROE 3 NDW 11*)
DTGW v BATB - Karaoke king Mike "big cat" Cobb and his fellow regulators changed names in the off-season to a more fit name for how this season will end up. This trimmed up team are looking to break out of the gate and have their minds on one thing, and one thing only......... a championship. they start the season against rookie team the Balled and the Beautiful. This game could get ugly, and isnt a very welcoming match for BATB. (*DTGW 14 BATB 3*).
