Week 2 Power Rankings

Well boys and girls, week 1 is in the books. There were a few surprises, the top team lost, and a few things we expected (the lights went out). Nonetheless, every game was completed almost on time and no one tied (because ties are for poor people). So, by popular demand (I think 1 person told me I should do this weekly... but no one said I shouldn't), your weekly power rankings.

Week 1 Scores and Notes

Rum Riot (1-0) 5, NDW (0-1) 2

Rum Riot looked great and NDW seemed out of sync. Thankfully that failed forfeit attempt didn't take.

We Play With Moobs (1-0) 4, That's What She Said (0-1) 2

An expected win for the Moobies

Gronki-Punch (1-0) 4, Roll Another Bunt (0-1) 2

The Gronks looked a little shaky in the late innings but a couple clutch defensive plays iced the game.

Tea Tea Twisters (1-0) 4, WAKA Shame (0-1) 1

The Twisters brought their A game this week and Stevey almost confirmed one of my pre-season predictions in the first week.

The Aristocrats (1-0) 29, Lucky Strike (0-1) 0

Yea, that's not a typo.

Swamp Donkeys (1-0) 18, Balls Deep (0-1) 3

Neither is that.

Brazzers (1-0) 6, Muff N Men (0-1) 2

Would have been a shut out if Steve was there.

Week 2 Power Rankings

#1. Rum Riot (Last week:2, +1)

These guys beat the former number 1 team and defending gold ball winners. There should be no argument who is tops right now.

#2. Tea Tea Twisters (Last week:5, +3)

Solid start to the season against a pretty good team. Amazing the difference something so minor as not wearing 10 pounds of denim can make.

#3. NDW (Last week:1, -2)

Tough start to the season losing to a team they've historically owned. Still a lot of shuffling on the defensive end before Vegas. This would have been a lot worse had "forfeitgate" occurred.

#4. Gronki-Punch (Last week:4, NC)

The rookies looked good in week one but the Gronks are gonna need their key position players to succeed against stiffer competition. 

#5. The Aristocrats (Last week:6, +1)

Was the 29-0 game a testament as to how good these guys are or how bad Lucky Strike is? I'm still on the fence until they play some of the more competitive teams.

#6. Brazzers (Last week:14, +8)

Obviously last week's ranking was a joke. The porn stars beat a capable team in week 1 but can they compete with the big guns?

#7. WAKA Shame (Last week: 3, -4)

Would these guys be better off if Stevey stays home? It's not good when your team is telling the first base ref to toss you. If he can keep his head on he is among the elite players. I just don't think he can.

#8. Swamp Donkeys (Last week: 8, NC)

I think the Donkeys have already scored more runs than last season after one week and I know they have more wins.

#9. We Play With Moobs (Last week: 9, NC)

The Moobies took care of business against a weaker team. I just can't justify moving them any higher.

#10. Muff N Men (Last week: 7, -3)

Tough loss to a veteran team. We'll call it a championship hangover. Let's see if they can bounce back this week.

#11. Roll Another Bunt (Last week: 10, -1)

These guys showed some potential in the season opener. I was impressed with the defense considering how wet it was. But a loss is a loss and you don't move up by losing.

#12. That's What She Said (Last week: 13, +1)

Well, you can move up when two teams get slaughtered I guess. They didn't get blown out at least.

#13. Balls Deep (Last week: 11, -2)

After an 18-3 shalacking I guess there should be only one direction to go...

#14. Lucky Strike (Last week: 12, -2)

Allowing more runs in one game than 75% of the teams are going to allow all season earns you bottom of the barrel status.

A Look Ahead

My rankings reign supreme over WAKA's so if the seedings look weird that's why.

No one on Brazzers will speak to me after my preseason rankings. They are out to prove something. Brazzers roll 9-2.

#4 Gronki-Punch vs. #10 Muff N Men

Tough start to the season for the Muffs. If all the Gronks show up this should be a wash. Gronki wins 5-1

#5 The Aristocrats vs. #8 Swamp Donkeys

The 2 highest scoring teams from last week meet this week. This one won't be quite as high scoring. Aristocrats take it 8-3.

#12 That's What She Said vs. #14 Lucky Strike

It's going to be a long season for Lucky Strike. TWSS wins handily 8-1.

#9 We Play With Moobs vs. #13 Balls Deep

If you're looking for an upset here then you're looking at the wrong game. Moobies cruise 7-4.

#2 Tea Tea Twisters vs. #3 NDW

Game of the week alert. NDW is looking to avoid going 0-2 for the first time in franchise history. I got a feeling that the 11 practices the team held this week will pay off. NDW wins it 5-2.

#1 Rum Riot vs. #7 WAKA Shame

Rum Riot looked like champs in week 1 and WAKA Shame looked like chumps. I got a feeling WAKA Shame still has a couple weeks to go before they are a force. Rum Riot rolls 5-2.

I'm going to need some help from the players throughout the league on the Kathleen cry count. I think it was 3 last week, only 1 by Papi. If anyone knows of more let me know. We love you Kathleen, you did great week 1! See you on the fields!
