Week 2 (Updated)
We made it through week 1, and now all you new players will probably get a taste of the wrath of Portland Parks. That's right folks, it's time for our first (of many) weather watch. Everyone in the league is promoted to Joe Cupo status and are strongly encouraged to ask Hopper every 5 minutes whether we are canceled or not. Then, when we do get shut down, make sure you take a pic of how beautiful the day turned out. Generally 7 or 8 drops of rain is enough to soak Payson Park, so I wouldn't be too optimistic. Last week was insane. The top team lost to a new team, we had ridiculous wind that made Houghton look like Aroldis Chapman and turn throws to first into throws to home. We have a new number 1 this week and much to Papi's chagrin, it's not NDW. Last week was our first week at the newest sponsor bar, Rivalries. Personally, I’d give them a 3/10. Things I like: Food is good, female bartenders, 360 degrees of sports. Things I didn’t like: Too crowded (it’s week 1 so we always have a great turn out), only 1 toilet for each sex, kind of pricey, they have to send booze orders downstairs which means I have to wait for beer (boo). It’s only the first week, so I’ll give them a few more chances.

Quick and easy this week
#10. Kick Tease - These guys got welcomed to the league by the Puffs in a bad way. It’s still early and if we manage to play tonight, they get Chug Norris, who should be more generous in the runs allowed department.
#9. Pitches Be Krazy - Kind of an up and down first game for these guys. Giving up a bunch of runs early, then crawling back and taking advantage of a very intoxicated team and gusty winds.
#8. The UntouchaBalls - Breaking news: Sparks has been fired as manager of the team. He will still resume being a douchebag and pitching terribly. Wade DePalma has stepped in as interim manager. The Balls were in trouble when the whole team started drinking at 3pm (isn’t that how WAKA is supposed to be?), and suffered a tough loss to The Tinderellas last week, who I thought played in Lighthouse.
#7. Pocket Pounders - Great debut for these guys catching an unprepared Rum Riot off guard and putting up some serious runs. This team has plenty of athletes and could be a contender by season’s end.
#6. Muff N Puff - Good warm up game for the Muffs putting up a 9 spot on a new team. If we play this week, look for them to go 2-0 against another new team.
#5. Chug Norris - True to form last week. Grab the lead then start goofing off and give that lead back and do just enough in the end to win. Good to see the denim out in full force.
#4. Rum Riot - Looked sloppy and over matched by the rookies. The crazy wind made it way too tempting to kick away and a few defensive miscues let the Pounders jump out to a big lead early that was too tough to come back from.
#3. We’re Coming on Home - Can’t really punish these guys for losing to most likely the best team in the league. Their defense did enough to win but the offense did pretty much nothing. They’re probably hoping for a rain out this week. Might be the only way to avoid an 0-2 start.
#2. No Dead Weight - Wasn’t sure which team was playing last week as I didn’t see more than 2 navy shirts. They did what they practice and bunted effectively and just the the Balls bury themselves. Can’t justify giving NDW the #1 ranking because they gave up 2 runs in the 5th to a team that probably doesn’t remember scoring them.
#1. Hand Made Love - I figured these guys would get to #1 at some point this season. Defense look dominant and the offense did just enough as always.

If PP plays like they did last week, this could be a great game. I just don't see their offense doing much with Steve catching and a wet ground. HML will score early as always and probably post another shut out.
No Dead Weight (-1) vs. We're Coming on Home
There's always that upset potential with NDW because you really have no idea who's in or out of town on a week to week basis. With that being said, I've heard that Bez will make his season debut tonight and as long as he doesn't have to pitch, NDW should squeak out a close one.
Muff N Puff (-6) vs. Pitches Be Krazy
The Muffs rookie tour continues against PBK. Look for them to score and probably score a lot. 6 might be being generous.

The Chugs also get a cushy start to the season. This game has that 10-5 feel to it. Chugs score early, then wet denim slows them down.
Rum Riot (-1) vs. The UntouchaBalls
RR started the season on a sour note and the Balls got drunk. I think having a new manager is going to help a lot but RR should be ready to play this week and I always pick against my team to piss them off!
