WEEK 4 GSPOT
!!!POWER-RANKINGS!!!
East Bound and Down #1: Although they
tied in Week 3, we cannot overlook the fact that this team is playing
for a tryout on NDW and the Superhero League, and the rest of the
league is here for the beers and the headache that ensues on Friday
morning at work. With that kind of driving factor, we cannot see this
team letting the pain of Week 3 drag them down.
Roll Another Bunt #2: After their
strong performance against EBD, they proved to the rest of the league
that they're ready to grind it out with a full set of lungs.
Saved by the Ball #3: They have yet to
let up a run all year in their Lighthouse League games, however, they
have yet to play the top tier teams. Time will tell if this team will
overtake the top spot.
Team Death Pig #4: After an impressive
defensive performance, Team Death Pig overtakes the team they stepped
all over in Week 3, proving they are contenders in the Lighthouse
League.
Smoosh Moosh Panthers #5: Taking the
biggest drop in the power rankings this week is the lovable, but
clearly nonathletic, Smoosh Moosh Panthers. They clearly are NOT who
we thought they were.
Tinderellas #6: With a lack of run
production in Week 3, the Tinderellas took a stumble in rankings this
week. They have a difficult match-up in Week 4 against RAB, so this
may not be the last fall we see from them this season.
Swamp Donkeys #7: With a run
differential of -8, it's no surprise this team falls in the bottom of
the barrel in the power rankings. However, they are riding a season
high 1 game winning streak, so they're poised for a move up the
ladder.
VIA Agency #8: Tough to argue this team
being where they are at, given their -1.5 points in the standings
this season. We will need to see some positive numbers in the
standings before we consider this team moving.
Brews on First #9: This team has put up
only 1 run in 3 games played, while letting up a whopping 12 runs to
the competition. Every league needs a team in last place, and trust
us, we all respect you for it.
[[[PREDICTIONS]]]
GAME OF THE WEEK:
TDP vs SBB – TDP is coming off an
outstanding defensive performance in Week 3 holding SMP to a big fat
donut in the run department, however, SBB has yet to let up a run
after two weeks. SBB's scoreless streak is rivaling Jason Kidd's at
this point (minus the beating of the wife thing), and we anticipate
the streak to continue for Week 4. SBB 3-0.
SD vs VIA – SD brought the noise in
Week 3 pushing their first run across the plate, and believe it or
not, they ended up with a W. VIA had a rough go in Week 3 getting
outscored 5-0, bringing their total runs scored this season after 3
weeks to a measly 2 runs. With this kind of run production, it comes
as no surprise the team is 0-3 this season, and we expect the rain to
keep falling (terrible news for the VIA in their skinny denim jeans).
SD 4-1.
RAB vs TD – RAB handed EBD their
first mark outside the W column in Week 3, battling for a tie against
the NDW hopefuls. TD, on the other hand, had flashbacks to their
Junior High days, struggling to get past first base. As long as RAB
can continue riding high, we predict another W for the blazing
tie-dyers.
EBD vs BoF – EBD looked human in Week
3 tying with RAB in a nail-biter. I don't know who could have seen
that coming (except of course us predicting an upset last week), but
they get tossed a softball for Week 4 against BoF. Unfortunately (or
luckily), we missed the cross-over game that BoF played in last, but
we can imagine how well that went for BoF. EBD by a landslide –
7-0.
CROSS-OVER GAME
SMP vs HML – Given the fact that SMP
seemed to forget how to play kickball in Week 3, their only hope is
to out-drink the competition in Week 4, black out, and forget about
the score, seemingly convincing themselves they got the W. Sloshball
will certainly be demanded in this match-up, but all the booze in the
world can't change the fact that HML goes home with the W – 7-2.
** on a side note, there are some
questions arising that the tie-dye colors of SD looks almost
identical to RAB – we assume RAB just forgot what team they are on
**
Once again, we went another week
without any submissions, and with the Bruins game coming on in 15
minutes, we do not have enough time to publicly embarrass an
individual in the Bachelor/Bachelorette of the week. With that being
said, it would be cool if someone sent in a submission – it
depresses us when we load up the email and only see Amazon offers and
GooglePlus invitations (Ain't nobody got time for that). Email is
mainegmot@gmail.com.
Go Bruins! Krug for President.
Sincerely,
“The Lighthouse Losers”
