GSPOT Week7

Sorry for the late submission kids. It is difficult to type when you are seeing double and throwing empty beer cans at the TV during the Bruins game. We did not have a chance to proof-read this, so please don’t judge us if there are numerous mistakes, however, we hope you enjoy. Here’s hoping all of Sidney Crosby’s tears help provide much needed water to the children in Africa.

[[POWER RANKINGS]]
Eastbound and Down #1: EBD basically got a bye in Week 6 with IAAKJP forfeiting their 100th straight game. Can’t justify moving this team from the top spot. After all, a W is a W.

Roll Another Bunt #2: After a disappointing Week 6 loss, many questions arise when debating the strength of RAB. You cannot argue with the fact that this team is the only one in the Lighthouse league this season to give EBD some trouble, giving us reason enough to hold then at #2 for another week.

Smoosh Moosh Panthers #3: In a surprising turn of events, SMP turned in arguably their best performance of the season stacking up 8 runs against SBB in Week 6. We are all curious to see if the momentum can carry this team, which earned a runner-up position in the Lighthouse league in Spring 2012.

Saved by the Ball #4: After an uncharacteristic performance in Week 6, the entire league is wondering how this team will fare after coming off their first loss of Spring 2013. We cannot overlook the fact that this team has been dominant in the first half, minus their performance in Week 6, earning them the #4 spot.

Team Death Pig #5: Consistency is the key for TDP. They’ve looked great at times, and then just plain awful. If this team can channel their inner-rock on a week to week basis, look for this team to make some noise in the upcoming playoffs.

Swamp Donkeys #6: SD has strung together the most impressive comeback of the season. After an embarrassing first few weeks, this team has proven they are contenders with back-to-back-to-back victories. If SD can continue their solid play, look for this team to continue climbing the rankings.

Tinderellas #7: A team that was relatively unknown in the WAKA league at the start of the season, this team created quite a bit of noise in the first half of the season; however, their poor play in the latter half has demonstrated how much experience plays a part.

Brews on First #8: BoF made some noise in Week 6, from their impressive display of “The Worm” to their creativity in head-stand competitions, however, fell just short of the W in their match-up against SD. We will need to see this team come away with a W before considering moving them from #8.

I am a Kick James Pitch #9: In the words of mi madre, “We aren’t mad, we’re just disappointed.” Not only does this team’s name baffle me (why wouldn’t you make it “I Am Kick James Pitch”????), but their lack of commitment has the rest of the league anticipating a forfeit when they see they’re matched up against them come Monday. #9 to round it out.

GAME OF THE WEEK
RAB vs. SBB: In our Week 7 GoTW, we have two of the top teams battling it out to prove why they deserve to be where they’re at in the Power Rankings. With both teams coming off an atypical loss in Week 6, it will be interesting to see which team can turn things around. With RAB losing a nailbiter in Week 6, and SBB getting blown out of the building, we are predicting RAB to eek out the W. RAB 6-5.

EBD vs. TD: With Christopher Hopper joining the Customer Service division of WAKA, a general bystander would anticipate a strong showing, however, EBD is coming off a week of rest in their gimme-win against IIAKJP. The analysts have speculated that Christopher Hopper’s inauguration into the WAKA family could act as a distraction for the TD’s, and therefore, we are projecting a victory for EBD. EBD 5-0.

SD vs SMP: SMP is coming off an impressive 8 run performance against SBB, who had yet to let up a run in the Lighthouse League. SD is coming off a win of their own (in spectacular fashion I might add) winning in the final inning in a defensive battle against BoF. SMP has shown flashes of brilliance all season, and we are anticipating another strong performance for the Anchorman super-fans. SMP 6-3.

BoF vs. TD: History would tell us that after an impressive performance, the following week, TD puts up a stinker. BoF looked strong in their Week 6 match-up against SD, and we feel as though this team is poised for their first victory of the season. We’re going out on a limb (don’t let us down BoF) and predicting BoF takes their first W in this Spring 2013 season. BoF 3-2.

CROSSOVER GAME

I Am A Kick James Pitch vs. Beast From The East: We don’t even know why we’re writing a prediction for this game, since IAAKJP will not even show, but even if they did, we would still predict BFTE to walk all over them. *IF* IAAKJP does manage to field a team, we predict BFTE to get the W. BFTE 8-0.
