Week 5 Lighthouse League Predictions

What's up Lighthousers. Welcome to Week 5! By now you all have distinguished who the worst player on the team is and appropriately shifted them into the important "scorekeeper" position, calculated the perfect number of beers to bring to each game to avoid falling asleep at the wheel and have successfully found the correct path through the office to avoid contact with anyone and everyone as you stroll in 15 minutes late smelling of booze. Gotta love it. Week 5 is a time when teams either make it or fall apart, but just remember, you can always get another job, but you can NEVER relive another WAKA season, so make the most of it and have fun.

Without further adieu, Week 5 predictions courtesy of the GSPOT team for all our loyal readers (thanks Mom).

WFI vs KD:

WFI continues holding the crowd on the edge of their seats with another loss. The experts are speculating whether or not this team thinks there is a draft at the start of the spring season because it's becoming rather apparent they are tanking for that first pick. We personally don't have the heart to tell them how it is, so we'll all just have to wait to see their faces come Spring registration. Kick Dog earned a lot of respect last week in the Lighthouse league, not because of their performance on the field, but rather due to their performance off it. The team pulled out their once-a-year hall passes and managed a strong showing at $3 Deweys. In a matchup of newcomers, we have Kick Dog running away with this one, 6-3.

SD vs SSP:

SD is riding high after arguably the biggest upset of the season, putting away WOCFB in late inning fashion. The team dedicated their victory to a surprise showing of none other than our own Kristen Sargent. We question whether the SD's can continue their performance without their team leader, and unfortunately they face the SSP's who are coming off a trouncing of the WFI's. The Panthers amassed a league leading 13 runs in one game, which was partially due to a unique line up change, and mostly due to a high amount of alcohol. We anticipate this game to be a potential playoff preview, with the Panthers eeking out the win late, 2-1.

WOCFB vs PU:

Prepare Uranus looked less than stellar last week, continuing the trend of making out with their siblings, in what ended in another unsatisfying tie. A spokesman from the team stated they don't want to make anyone butthurt, but unfortunately a tie doesn't bode well for the standings. WOCFB suffered their first loss of the season, leaving us to question this veteran team's stamina. The team is battling fatigue, and unfortunately for them, they are a long ways back on the donor list for new tickets and legs. Both teams are looking to rebound harder than a man who was stood up at the altar, and are in desperate need of scrounging up wins before the postseason push, or they'll end up with a tough road through the playoffs. We just hope that one of them represents the Mainer theme to the fullest this week so at least one will say they won something, because we all know this one will end in a tie. DVR this game and fast-forward to the handshakes, because we predict a real snooze fest. 1-1 tie.

KD vs SSP:

KD put up a solid fight against SSP in the first game of the season, especially considering it was KD's first game together. However, after sending Wait For It on the WAKA SHAME last week, we expect the Panthers to keep rolling through KD and into the playoffs where they will once again shamelessly fall apart, blame each other and not talk until spring registration. 9-1 SSP.

That's all kids. Keep bringing that bar belt back to the Lighthouse League. Be smart, safe and sexy. Bunting is for the birds - real kickballers kick like they will never kick again. Preach.
