Week 7 Lighthouse Predictions/Power Rankings

Welcome to Week 7 Lighthousers! This is your typical October kickball, where playoff seeds are solidified and dreams fall faster than the leaves. We at GSPOT would like to applaud all of you once again, as we have had zero beers dumped on fellow kickballers (unintentionally does not count) and zero ejections, which just proves that this league is the one to be in. We have also dominated the bar belt for most of the season, and a lot of the credit needs to be extended to our very own Chris Hopper. Coming out of nowhere, he has ran a tight ship all season and also pushed away the rain clouds that Corliss has in his back pocket (we still love you Scott).

With that being said, we present to you the Week 7 predictions and power rankings. Best of luck to all the Lighthousers this week, and may God have mercy on you all on Friday morning. Enjoy.

Wait for It vs. We Only Come From Behind:

What's surprising this week for WOCFB is that they're matched up against two teams that they have yet to face all season in their double header against WFI and SSP. What doesn't come as a surprise is our prediction for their first match-up against WFI. WOCFB can solidify their #2 position in their first game, and based off of WFI's first five appearances this season, we expect it to happen. WFI has been waiting for their first win all season, however has failed to grasp that in order to win, you need to score more runs than your opponent. WFI did show a glimmer of life in Week 6 against SD, but fell just short in a 2-3 loss. We predict much of the same for Week 7, with WOCFB winning 7-2.

Smoosh Smoosh Panthers vs. We Only Come From Behind:

In our Week 7 game of the week, SSP battles WOCFB. SSP has yet to lose a game all season, however, WOCFB has had a similar run, minus one blemish against SD in Week 4. SSP has looked dominant all season, backed by their strong defense, but is poised for a typical meltdown as they approach the playoffs. WOCFB is hoping to be the catalyst to spark this meltdown, and time will tell if they can be just that. In a back and forth battle, we anticipate SSP stealing this one late. An obvious potential Championship match-up, SSP wins 3-2.

Wait for It vs. Prepare Uranus:

PU is searching for answers after another loss in Week 6. PU has been winless in their past three weeks, and is starting to feel the pressure as they prepare for the playoff push. WFI should be chomping at the bit for a chance to play the PU's, however, PU should be just as excited, as WFI has been a consistent crutch for teams that are struggling. As long as PU can keep their composure and pack enough booze, we have them getting the train back on the tracks. PU 5-1.

Swamp Donkeys vs. Kick Dog:

In arguably the most exciting game of the night, given the fact both teams are battling for third place, we have SD squaring off with KD. KD hit a snag in Week 6, losing to WOCFB, however, the post-30 parents are poised for a rebound. SD has been up and down all season, however, has not lost consecutive games week-to-date. We expect this trend to continue, as the SD's have experience on their side. Backed by a late season pitching change, we predict SD wins this one late. SD 6-4.

POWER RANKINGS:

#1. Smoosh Smoosh Panthers
#2. We Only Come From Behind
#3. Swamp Donkeys
#4. Kick Dog
#5. Prepare Uranus
#6. Wait for It

Remember to drink your booze out of Capri Sun packs or surgically installed Camelbacks, spend your paychecks at $3 Dewey's and belt out your best rendition of Milli Vanilli's "Blame It On The Rain" at OPT. And most importantly, keep it classy.
